Teeth, Teeth!
Our little Sheldon monkey is sprouting teeth like crazy. His first tooth, a lower incisor, appeared at the beginning of the month, and his second tooth, an upper incisor (but not the one above his lower incisor- this is just to the side) broke through the gums on Wednesday. These teeth coincide with his first ear infection (about two weeks ago, but now he has his second already, so he's making up for lost time I guess) and his first butt-rash, thanks to those ear antibiotics. He's a pro at crawling by now, and he also is very good at pulling himself up on things, although he isn't walking along things yet. He is such a ham, and makes friends everywhere he goes!

Mobile Monkey
Yesterday Sheldon figured out how to crawl, at 6 months, 8 days old. He most often scoots along on his stomach (the wood floors must be hard on his knees) but if the ground is comfy like carpet, he'll go a-crawling!

Family Update
Okay, okay, okay, I know- I'm very late with an update.

Happy Shrieks!
Sheldon is perhaps the happiest and loudest little child! He's a little over 3 1/2 months old (I know, I'm really late with an update- but you weren't really surprised, were you?) and is 15 lbs. He's a super eater and spends the rest of his time playing with his toys, practicing rolling over (he can very nearly roll back to front now, and has master front to back a long time ago) and scooting his face across the carpet when he's in tummy time. A little more motivation, and he'll likely be able to finish the roll from back to front, because he easily gets onto his side, then just quits there. He loves to coo and gurgle and has the best smile, which he loves to share. This crazy-happy child will let out shrieks of happiness for no apparent reason! Needless to say, we love it (although not so much when Amos is trying to go to sleep, because then Amos gets worried thinking that Sheldon is crying).

Sheldon two month update
Little Sheldon has been packing on the pounds, as he should! He had his two month check-up last week and was 12.5 lbs. Yesterday I went through his clothes and had to pack up two bags worth of clothes that don't fit him anymore! He's in 3 to 6 month clothes now, although a few of his larger 3 month clothes still fit him (he and his Buddha belly fill them out real well now). Sheldon likes to eat about 7 times a day- four times between about 7 am and 7 pm, and then twice between 8 and 10 pm, and once during the night. He sleeps about 6 hours at a time, which is nice for me!

Sheldon update, 4 weeks old
Little Sheldon is growing well! He still has tiny little Sasquatch feet (they are the longest little feet I've ever seen!) and Piano-man fingers, but he's gaining some fat on his lanky little frame. Sheldon has gained 1 and a half pounds since he was born (he weighs 8 lbs, 10.5 oz now) and grew by a quarter of an inch when he was checked at his 3 week checkup last week. That puts him at the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height. He's also at 50th percentile for his head size.

Sheldon has a belly button!
His umbilical cord stump fell off today while he was getting a diaper change. Amos thought it was pretty interesting that that was how belly buttons were made. Hooray for no more stump to mess with!

Amos has a little brother!
While Amos was two days early, his little brother Sheldon has already decided to make his own way into the world- in this case, by being two days late. At 5:16 AM on Friday, April 1st, little Sheldon Frederick Arthur Heber was born and joined our happy family! Sheldon was 21 inches long, and 7 lbs, 2 ounces at birth. Labor was much easier this time, as there was no back labor (woohoo!) and it only lasted about 12 hours. I almost did the whole thing naturally- they got the epidural in just in time for me to push, so I had an epidural for all of about 6 minutes. That and I took some pain meds at around midnight, which stopped my labor for 2 hours.

Amos, 15 months
So I haven't posted in a while. Things are going well- we thought we were going to have to move to Greensboro, NC for Sean's new job, but they decided not to make us move. As a result, however, our house is nearly completely remodeled! We tore up all the carpet downstairs except for in the office, refinished the hardwood floors in the living room and dining room, and laid down new floors in the kitchen and breakfast nook. Upstairs is all refinished hardwood floors, except for our remodeled "hotel bathroom"- which I love! We painted the upstairs hallway, stairwell, and living and dining room, and have new doorknobs on the doors. We also cut and stained and put on new quarter round for the living and dining room. It looks awesome!

First Steps!
Hooray for Amos! Yesterday, he took his first step. It was kind of a step, really- not the kind you normally think of, the stereotypical first step as the child lets go of his parents hands or some such. Instead, he was walking along the couch, steadying himself with one hand like he has been doing for a while. By a while, I mean like a month or two. He has been enjoying himself walking along things or walking while holding on to at least one steadying hand or walking while holding on to his train toy that he can push in front of him. He's also been standing without any support for a while, and yesterday the seconds jumped from him holding his balance for a second or two to holding his balance for several seconds with nothing to steadying him. Then yesterday, as he was walking along the couch sidestepping, he took one step without holding on to the couch! Yay!
