Life happenings
So it's been awhile, again, since my last post. Life's been good. Zug and Boo are settling in well together, though Boo is still learning she can't squeeze Zug too hard. Michelle and I went horseback riding a while back with Seth's cousins. It was awesome, even better than I remembered. I can't wait till I can go riding again.

Daboo and Zugzug
It's been a long time since I last posted. It's how things go- I've never been very good at this whole journaling thing, but here I am posting now! Work's going well, nothing too exciting. There are ups and downs, but I just try to focus on the ups. The house is cool still. We need to paint stuff, and there are still projects, but we'll get there.

Updates and pictures
It's been two weeks since I last posted, and most of that time I've been really sick. Most of the rest of the time I was caring for Sean, who was really sick. We're both doing better now! Of course, this set back Daboo training, especially during the five days or so that I had no voice whatsoever. It was very very quiet in the house, rather disturbingly so. Daboo did well though responding to voiceless, hand-gesture commands.

Holy Lots Going On, Batman
Yeah, I know, I haven't posted in a while. So let me try and fill in the blanks while I sit here downstairs on the futon with my laptop while the puppy goes about diligently killing the blanket. After all, if she didn't kill her blanket, it might take over the world!

No!! I don't want to be a waiter!!
Thank you, Valentine, I couldn't have said it better myself. (From the film Mirrormask, if you didn't catch the quote titling this blog.) And it's true. I don't want to be a waiter. Or a fast-food worker. Or a banker. Hi Michelle. :)

Celtic Music
We went to see Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul yesterday at the GBPAC. That show totally rocked- I loved it! Celtic Music is just so much fun, and you could see they were having a blast just playing with each other, walking around and playing by this musician or that in the band, challenging each other and just generally having a grand old time. It was spectacular and I relished it. :D

Faith Journal
I wrote this for a journal essay entry on Faith for one of my classes yesterday. I figured I'd post it here.

Last Curtain Call
Kala died tonight a little before eleven. I won't go into her last moments in life, because that's not who she was, aside from the fact that she was a fighter battling enormous odds. She lived long enough to see us again and to let us say goodbye. Kala got to get lots of neck and shoulder rubs and died with her head resting on her favorite towel.

Lives
Kala lives! Though if she was a cat I'd be seriously wondering how many lives she blew on that one!

Flirting with death
Kala went to the vet today, being egg-bound. Sean took her and went off to our vet in Dubuque, staying there to work this afternoon, but really we were both basically worthless at our respective works today. Kala got to the vet around one in the afternoon, and she was in bad shape. She paced in the car for nearly the entire two hour drive, and by the time they got there she had used up basically all her energy. She was still curious, though, looking around and especially at the bird they have there, who was regarding her with the same curiosity.
